2. This May, the City plans to hold the first lien sale since 2021 (the Abolish the Tax Lien Sale Coalition stopped it from happening for over 3 years but we are still fighting to abolish it permanently.) Join the Community Briefing on the NYC Tax Lien Sale on Monday, Feb 3 at 6 pm to learn about the major reforms we won and how to get help your community get off of this year's sale! Register here.
2. The Mayor's Climate Strong Communities Program is focused on East New York this year. It is hosting the first of several workshops on Tuesday, Feb 4 at 6 pm at 613 New Lots Ave to gather feedback about the challenges that East New Yorker's face that are compounded by climate change hazards (e.g. extreme heat, extreme rainfall and coastal/tidal flooding). Please attend and speak up about your needs! This is part of our ongoing fight for resilient infrastructure, more city investment ($$$) and environmental justice in the Jewel Streets and throughout East New York.
